This document is part of the series Good Production Practices (GPP), a set of protocols and guidelines that provides directions on practices that generate a higher level of sustainability within the beef production system. The Calendar of Good Management Practices – is written for producers of breeding herds with spring service. Its purpose is to guide the timely preparation of activity schedules, helping to prepare provisions and anticipate unforeseen events. The calendar sets out the actions that should be taken month by month and during the whole year, for more effective and sustainable management of the breeding herd. It includes animal welfare recommendations to improve the productivity of the cattle herd, whilst maintaining the protection of natural resources.
